Matt Ewig
Managing Director
Matt Ewig, Managing Director in Walker & Dunlop’s Capital Markets group, is responsible for new loan origination and is based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Throughout his 22-year career, Mr. Ewig has originated over $2.0 billion in permanent, interim, and preferred equity/mezzanine financings. He has experience with multifamily, student housing, industrial, self-storage, office, hospitality, and retail properties and he has executed with a multitude of lenders.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Ewig served as Managing Director of Berkadia’s Chicago office and its predecessor companies, where he was employed for 17 years. Before Berkadia, he spent two years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago.
Mr. Ewig holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the real estate program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Beyond the Company, Mr. Ewig spent four years serving on the Board of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA) and maintains an active role in the organization. He is also a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), NAIOP, and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Mr. Ewig, along with his children, are active volunteers with Sunbeam Kids, a nonprofit organization whose vision is to develop self-confident and broad-thinking children who grow up knowing they can make a difference in both their community and the world.
