Aaron Perlis
Executive Vice President, Special Asset Management
Aaron J. Perlis, Executive Vice President, Special Asset Management, joined Walker & Dunlop in 2002 as part of the Structured Finance and Equity team. In his current role, Mr. Perlis is responsible for the creation and leadership of Walker & Dunlop’s Special Asset Management team, where he is focused on stabilizing, asset managing, and recovering the value of properties in Walker & Dunlop's Special Assets portfolio.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Perlis served as EVP and Chief Information Officer. He was responsible for the company’s Information Technology department with a focus on the strategic implementation of new technologies across the company and leveraging data to enhance all phases of the business.
Previously, Mr. Perlis held various roles with the company including leading its strategic business initiatives as well as working in its principal investments group. He was responsible for the portfolio management of the group’s investments, as well as the due diligence and financial analysis associated with the construction, mezzanine debt, and joint venture financing of multifamily investments and acquisitions made by the principal investments group. He has been involved in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of over $3.1 billion of commercial real estate transactions throughout the United States.
Mr. Perlis was a member of the company’s team responsible for the acquisition of certain assets from Column Guaranteed in 2009 and worked closely with senior management to successfully execute the company’s initial public offering in December 2010, the acquisition of CWCapital’s Agency business, and several other acquisitions.
Mr. Perlis obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Beyond the company, he is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, the National Multi Housing Council, and on the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO).
