Walker & Dunlop Continues Expansion of Loan Origination Platform with California Team

Walker & Dunlop, Inc. (NYSE: WD) (the “Company”) announced today that Mark Strauss, senior vice president & managing director, and Rob Quarton, assistant vice president, have joined its Capital Markets group. Based out of the Company’s Irvine, California office, the team will arrange financing for commercial real estate properties by leveraging its extensive relationships with capital providers throughout the country.

Messrs. Strauss and Quarton join Walker & Dunlop from Cohen Financial, where Mr. Strauss was a 15-year veteran and founding member of the firm’s Equity Practice. The pair was responsible for originating, structuring and placing debt and structured finance for a wide variety of asset classes. Mr. Strauss has over three decades of commercial real estate finance experience during which he has arranged various forms of debt and equity for over 23,000 apartment units, 7,000,000 square feet of industrial and office space, and over 3,000,000 square feet of retail space. Mr. Quarton’s commercial real estate career spans over 15 years working for top tier advisors, capital providers and investors. The team, which has arranged over $6 billion in financing, is well respected among its peers and clients for its ability to understand a sponsor’s requirements and creatively structure financing solutions.
