Steve Mentesana
Senior Managing Director
Based out of the Company’s Dallas, Texas office, Steve Mentesana is responsible for originating multifamily loans with a focus on the lending programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). With over three decades of experience in the commercial real estate industry, Mr. Mentesana brings to Walker & Dunlop a deep knowledge of HUD’s refinance, healthcare, and construction lending products.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Mentesana served as Senior Managing Director at Berkadia. Previously, he was President of Encore Multi-Family LLC where he was responsible for the development and acquisition of multifamily units. Prior to this, Mr. Mentesana originated FHA and conventional healthcare loans for GMAC Commercial Mortgage (now known as Berkadia) and Malone Mortgage Company. Mr. Mentesana’s professional background also includes several years in the commercial development and appraisal fields, with an emphasis on healthcare, site selection, and feasibility analysis.
Mr. Mentesana is a native of Dallas, Texas, and he holds degrees in accounting and economics from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.
