Charley Conkling
SVP & Director of FHA Underwriting
Charley Conkling is the Director of FHA Underwriting for Walker & Dunlop. He has been underwriting FHA loans since 2009 and is an approved FHA MAP Underwriter for multifamily programs and approved Lean underwriter for healthcare programs. As the Director of FHA Underwriting, Mr. Conkling manages a team of underwriters and analysts and is responsible for managing the FHA underwriting team including strategic oversight, compliance, and production goals.
Charley has underwritten or directly overseen the underwriting of more than 100 FHA transactions totaling over $1.2 billion. He has structured transactions under each of the MAP loan programs which include 202 refinances, 223(a)(7)s, 223(f)s, 223(f) Pilots, 231, 241(a), 220and 221(d)(4)s. Charley has worked on all asset classes including Market Rate, Mixed Income and Affordable Housing. He has been MAP approved since 2013. Charley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
