Senior Director
With over 40 years of commercial real estate experience, By Cartmell, Senior Director, has successfully financed more than $2.5 billion of real estate loans throughout his career. Mr. Cartmell joined Walker & Dunlop in November 2016 and provides financing solutions to commercial real estate developers and owners throughout the United States. Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Cartmell served as a principal of George Elkins Mortgage Banking Company, after joining the company in 1992. Mr. Cartmell has extensive experience in life insurance company correspondent lenders, private lenders, conduit lenders, banks, and other commercial lending institutions.
Mr. Cartmell graduated with a master’s degree in finance from UCLA in 1983 and received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers College in 1973.
