1937
Oliver M. Walker and Laird Dunlop found Walker & Dunlop and becomes one of the first companies using FHA insurance to make single-family home loans.

1988
Walker & Dunlop named one of the first companies to qualify as a Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting and Servicing® Lender, the most efficient service available in the industry. This authorizes the company to underwrite, close and deliver most loans without pre-review.

2009
Walker & Dunlop acquires Column Guaranteed LLC, an affiliate of Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC. Column’s $5.0 billion servicing portfolio, together with its Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD operations, significantly expands Walker & Dunlop’s GSE and HUD loan origination capabilities.

2010
Walker & Dunlop completes its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. At the time, Walker & Dunlop is the first mortgage banking company in over four and a half years to access the public capital markets.

2012
Walker & Dunlop acquires CWCapital LLC, formerly an operating subsidiary of CW Financial Services LLC, which was wholly owned by funds managed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group LLC. The acquisition nearly doubles the size of the company and its origination volume.

2015
Entered the Multifamily Investment Sales space with the acquisition of Engler Financial Group, LLC, a Southeast-based investment advisory and brokerage firm.

Walker & Dunlop acquires Denver-based JCR Capital Investment Corporation.
Walker & Dunlop acquires iCap Realty Advisors, a mortgage banking firm based in Atlanta, Georgia that provides debt placement solutions for all commercial real estate asset classes, adding $2 billion to our servicing portfolio.

Walker & Dunlop acquires Enodo, a fully automated underwriting platform for multifamily real estate.

Walker & Dunlop launches the Apprise valuation service, a joint venture with GeoPhy, modernizing the multifamily valuation.
