Claudio Sgobba
Senior Managing Director, Head – EMEA Capital Markets - Global Capital Markets
Claudio V.R. Sgobba is a senior managing director of EMEA Capital Markets at Walker & Dunlop, based in London. In his role, he serves as the head of the EMEA capital markets practice out of the Walker & Dunlop London Mayfair office and concentrates on sourcing and structuring a diverse range of commercial real estate capital solutions, including senior, mezzanine, whole-loan, bridge loans, loans on loan, equity joint ventures, and recapitalizations.
Mr. Sgobba’s team joined Walker & Dunlop in February 2025, bringing over 60 years of combined experience across the UK, Western Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East, having completed transactions exceeding $70 billion since 2005. Mr. Sgobba brings 20 years of experience in various roles, including institutional investor, investment banker, and capital advisor.
Before joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Sgobba was the founding managing partner of Artega Capital, a fiduciary real estate capital markets firm with a team of seasoned commercial real estate bankers and capital advisors. He spent a decade as a capital advisor at JLL and HFF in London, honing his skills in mortgage banking, joint venture equity, and structured capital. His career also includes key roles at Dubai World, the state-controlled investment entity born from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision, as well as positions at Standard Chartered Bank in the Dubai Financial Center and Wintrust Financial in Chicago.
Having lived in Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the U.S., UAE, France, and the UK, Mr. Sgobba has executed transactions in over 46 countries, showcasing his global reach and expertise.
Mr. Sgobba earned his bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from DePaul University and his master’s degree in business with a concentration in commercial real estate finance and investments from the DePaul Driehaus College of Business.
